WORLD SHOTOKAN ACADEMY

World Shotokan Academy has been prompted by the idea of both gathering all the Shotokan practitioners under a single, no- profit organization, and asserting its own identity compared with the other styles.
The main aim of the ACADEMY is to pursuit and study - with the support of scientific contributions - the Perfect Style , i.e. that mixture of tradition and innovation which may enable a technical-functional improvement of Shotokan, fully respecting - at the same time - one's own body and one's own well- being.
THE WORLD SHOTOKAN ACADEMY includes , among its ranks , a solid crowd of top-level athletes, who have already won various competitions of worldwide importance, a thick group of instructors and masters of international renown, and a large number of people from the world of sports culture ( Physical Education teachers, medical doctors, qualified instructors from the CONI sports school, and so on).
To become a member of the ACADEMY is quick and easy . After paying the initial subscription of € 10 per person, you will receive a membership certificate and the ACADEMY patch;
Being a member of the ACADEMY gives you the following benefits:
- the ACADEMY Membership Diploma;
- the ACADEMY embroidered patch;
- the autographed photos of the athletes of the Italian Karate National Team;
- special prices when buying martial-art equipment from shops which have an arrangement with the ACADEMY (10-20% discount);
- the possibility of training , free of charge* , in the dojo of those champions of the Italian Karate National Team who have an agreement with the ACADEMY Project;
- the possibility of receiving information and news on stages, competitions and national and international activities;
- the possibility of both making use of the ACADEMY database, and exploiting contacts to organize one's own activities and projects;
- special conditions ** to organize stages and other events with those athletes of the Italian Karate National Team ( in both kata and kumite) who have an agreement with the ACADEMY Project.

You also have the possibility of becoming a Gold Member by paying an annual fee of €40.
As a Gold Member, apart from having the above-mentioned benefits, you can also take part - free of charge - in the project Twinned with the World , which gives you the possibility of absolutely-free training in every part of the world, with the clubs associated with the ACADEMY (you only pay for your travelling expenses); in turn, you undertake the engagement of giving hospitality to athletes coming from all parts of the world.
Gold Members will receive a free DVD produced by Luca Valdesi.

Gold Members will , in addition, receive a free T-shirt of Luca Valdesi.

* The free lessons in the dojo of the athletes of the Italian Karate National Team are limited, and to the discretion of the single athlete, who will, anyway, guarantee at least a lesson in his dojo, in a period of time the most convenient for him, and compatibly with his engagements.
** The special conditions to organize stages and other events with the athletes of the Italian Karate National Team exclusively apply to the instructors who have at least ten World Shotokan ACADEMY members in their club, or are Gold Members themselves. Such conditions include a 10% discount on the expenses for stages or other events.
