Karate and Relax:
The Palermo's stage which all the world likes
From 2nd to 6th of June, at the Città del Mare holiday village in Terrasini, an enchanting seaside resort in the province of Palermo, a Karate stage took place. It was organized by Master Andrea Valdesi, who runs the Polo Verde Sport Club in Palermo, and by his son Luca, with a formula which reflects the name of the event: karate and relax.
Five days in the spirit of friendship and aggregation, with three hours of hard daily training (divided into morning and afternoon sessions), with plenty of time for tasting of typical local products and relaxing in the village swimming pools - and then, in the evening,… everybody dancing!
The outstanding teachers Luca Valdesi, Lucio Maurino, Vincenzo Figuccio, Luca Brancaleon (for KATA) and Stefano Maniscalco, Davide Benetello, Salvatore Loria, Ivan Leal (for KUMITE) led the 150 karateki, coming from all over the world, through a route of increasing hard work, turning the effort of practice into an enjoyable method of learning.
On Saturday afternoon there was the appreciated lesson of
Master Mark Kline on Kyusho applied to bunkai. The icing on the cake was the presence of Master Claudio Culasso, Manager of the Fiamme Gialle Italian National Team, and Master Giuseppe Zaccaro, international referee, both taking part to all the practice sessions, and both enjoying themselves as all the other athletes. We were also glad to have the international referee Nando Olivelli and Master Sebastiano D'Agostino with us.
